Norouz

I'm not entirely sure that any of you guys would know of Norouz, but it's a pretty important festival Wink

It's the Iranian New year! Excited/Very Happy

This year, it's on March 20th at (I think) 10:44 Excited/Very Happy

Because the old Persian calendar was based on the Zoroastrian calendar, it is Lunar, so the date and time changes every year Happy

The year is 1388 in Iran. Excited/Very Happy

We basically celebrate with a haft-sin table (pronounced haft-seen) and by eating lots of traditional Iranian food Happy

(There are hundreds of spellings of Nowruz as Persian is written in Arabic script, so it's difficult to translate it accurately XD)

Oh that's intersting,

see I wondered the other day whether chinese new year was the latest new year in the world

Usually, the Islamic New Year is around October, so (by the Gregorian calendar) is probably the latest. I think the Hindu New Year is quite late too.. Happy

I kinda thought that the islamic new year in my eyes was the earliest,
though it can be seen as the latest too,

I know nothing about the hindu new year though Sad
