Here's one, Bernie Mac the comedian and actor, probably much better known in america than internationally, however he is best-known here as Frank Catton in the Oceans 11 trilogy, which as it happened I've just been watching all of recently.

Although it's not so recent now, let us still all remember the late David Mitton and George Carlin
(Those associated with the TTTE community will know who I'm talking about.... And other people may do too)

Well if you start pulling on that thread, we'd never finish. Wink

Edit: Anyway we now have Issac Hayes, best known of course as Chef from South Park, as well as being a musician, to mourn.

Not at all recent (4 September 2006 XD) but I think he definitely deserves to be mentioned: Steve Irwin a.k.a "The Crocodile Hunter".

Hmm. bit behind the times. I see your point but then were do we draw the line? A couple of more recent ones are Majel Barrett (widow of star trek creator Gene Roddenberry, regular in TOS as Nurse Chapel, regular guest in the modern series as the voice of the starship computer and as Ambassador Lwaxana Troi (mother of tng main character Cousellor Troi) in tng and ds9) and Ricardo Montalban, best known for appearing in 'fantasy island' but also as the genetically modified supervillain Kahn in an episode of TOS and Star Trek II (;The wrath of Kahn, often considered the best ST movie).

It's kinda odd that you should mention Steve Irwin, as I remember posting about his death on a forum the day it happened

RIP Wendy Richard. Star of Eastenders and a few sitcoms (most notably 'are you being served' and sometimes 'dad's army)'

Sad R.I.P Wendy Richard

She was great in Eastenders. My mum told me about 'Are You Being Served', it sounded quite funny.

PostSubject: Re: Obituaries   Sun Mar 22, 2009 1:08 pm

The death of Jade Goody touched a raw nerve on me this morning.

This time last year my mother had a Cervical cancer scare, just like Jade Goody,
And also
My grandma has been told numourous amounts of times she's had x days to live,
so
I was definately upset and miserable.

Thoguh my best friend Moose was far from supported and made me cry really hard an hour ago and called her a fat rascist bitch who deserved to die. He said that many people die everyday and why is she so special?
This isnt really an obituarie but I was appalled and I have blocked him on msn because he failed to see my point.
I also have a friend, Jodie, who's mother also died from Cancer when she was 7 years old
and
I asked Moose if he would sya the same thing to Jodie and he replied yes.
I was disgusted and ashamed to call him my best friend tbh,
Cry
My eyes are watering just thinking aobut it Neutral

I was really sorry to hear about Jade Goody Sad Sad Sad

I liked her I thought she was pretty awesome she was kind and sweet and funny (the whole CBB thing was blown out of proportion)

My mum liked Jade too and bought any mag or just anything with her on it.

I feel so sorry for Jade's kids too. Especially as she died on Mother's Day Cry

R.I.P Jade Goody

Oh and Alisha your friend is just insensitive.
I'm sorry to hear about the horrible things like that which have happened to your friends and family. Friends

I was gonna ask if you'd heard about it. I had a text off Scott earlier telling me (coz I was asking if there was any more news on her and he remembered I asked. awwww Happy) then I noticed it in Alisha's screen-name as well.

It's such a terrible thing Sad
I hate when people die. Especially die young. Especially the nice people!!!!!!! Cry

I have alot of respect for Jade, she's not the sort of person I'd usually get along with, but then again i didn't know her in person so who am I to judge?

I'm seriously upset that she's gone.

I've never ever had to deal with a death before, I've never been to a funeral, I hope this is the closest I'll get to dealing with a death for a long time.

Same here.

I've had a lot of pets die. And my aunt died when I was 7 but I didn't know her well and wasn't allowed to go to the funeral (incase it upset me) so I haven't really dealt with "proper" death Sad

To be fair, whilst I wouldn't have been quite so extreme about it, I know what your friend means... What exactly did she do to make anyone care? I don't agree with "she deserves to die" but, there are millions of cancer sufferers, many of whom do much more than she ever did. There was that lady, dying of cancer, than ran marathons, did bicycle races and raised million after million for charity. Did Ms Goody, with her immense celebrity, raise a penny? And if she did, why wasn't a bigger deal made of it, instead of the fact she was dying?

Let's face it - this whole story just sums up how horribly sensationalist our news systems are. They'd rather hear about someone totally negative dying of cancer than of actual news...
