I've been meaning to post about this for the last couple of days, in an interview with Charlie Simpson, the F* frontman has declared that the band have recently started work in the studio on their 3rd full-length album, the album is due for release in approx. Feb '09, and will be accompanied by a full-length tour of the UK!
Possible track titles have also been released, these include 'War Machine', 'Mercury Summer' and the rumoured first single of the album, 'English Way'!

I have all of their catalogue excluding individually sold singles, I still have to buy a copy of the Deathcar CD/Vinyl though! Ebay, ebay......

That's the only one I actually physically own! XD I also bought the "They Liked You Better..." EP from iTunes ^^

I would recommend buying Grand Unification though! (amazing album) Or at least download all the tracks of it - If you haven't (Same goes for One Day Son... too)
So basically... buy everything

Talking of singles, the only F* ones I actually own in physical form are Grand Unification pt.1 and Hazy Eyes, but there isn't that much point (other than collections sake obviously) in buying the singles when I own all the albums, I download all the b-sides too so that's not a problem. And on top of that a lot of the b-sides were released on Alternate Endings anyway

That's certainly true ^^ But I am a collector, usually I like to get all of the singles, as I did for HIM, when I bought their singles boxset also have a small drawer that's pretty full of CD singles XD

I love collecting too, I'm pretty mad on it actually, and my parents have always said it was something they noticed since I was a small kid, I've had some pretty weird collections going in the past too
But I do seem to be more into collections where there's a target at the end, rather than never-ending ones, though I do enjoy both ^^

XD You're definitely like me then! I've always collected random things, but I insist on doing it! My current thing, aside from CDs which is ongoing, is Steve Bell cartoons from the back of the Guardian :3

Any @Topic: Have you heard any of the tracks yet, or is it all still speculative?

There's a thread about it on the Fightstar forums, and Charlie stated all the information I wrote in the opening post in an interview, I haven't listened to the interview myself, but it looks genuine enough, as the thread was started and being discussed by the admins etc. and it wasn't just some spamful content copied of Wikipedia
As for hearing any of the tracks, not yet, all we have is the information I've given so far XD

FIGHTSTAR are very proud to announce they will be releasing a new single - 'The English Way' on November 3rd 2008. It will be on their new label, Search and Destroy, a record label venture from Raw Power Management (Funeral For A Friend, B4MV, Iron Maiden). This is the debut single from their 3rd Album which will be due out around March 2009.




"The English Way" which is about our broken English society, and how to try to rebuild it, will be released in three formats; on CD, 7" vinyl and as a digital bundle. The b-side tracks feature vocalist Charlie Simpson on drum duty, as drummer Omar Abidi is currently nursing a broken hand. Amongst the b-sides is a song originally written and recorded by songstress Imogen Heap. All extra tracks on the release are as follows:

I can't tell you how excited I am, I missed the original airing due to being ill in bed, but at least it's been uploaded to YT now
I wasn't so sure about the song at first, but I'm getting used to it already, it's a shame I'm gonna miss their short headling tour, and their tour with Feeder due to no venues being close by and train ticket prices being absolutely ridiculous...... Guess I'm gonna have to wait til the tour scheduled for Feb/March now, which will be supporting the release of the new album

This song was definitely a bit different to the usual Fightstar I love, but I saw an interview a while go and the band have stated that the rest of the album will be more full-blown Fightstar, or something like that, (not those exact words) but they wanted to try something else with this track, notice they used a choir too?

Fightstar have just released an Album Demo of 'Colours Bleed' on their MySpace, sounds awesome
