| I’m going to have to say Obama should become president for many reasons but the main one being the only alternative is McCain. | |

| That's always the case though I don't know much about Obama and Mc.Cain so don't get me wrong, but in pratically all elections it's deciding which one's more likely to less fuck up the country | |

| Exactly - when it's a choice of the lesser of two evils, Obama wins hands down. I really hope he gets it - at least he has a shred more moral dignity than McCain ¬.¬ | |

| It is indeed the lesser of two evils and neither are squeaky clean but McCain has the same policies as Bush so if he becomes president nothing is likely to change. The fact Obama tried to introduce the Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007 is a good sign that if he becomes president things might change in regards to the war. | |

| Not for a while, the security situation is a problem, and even when that dies down, if it ever does, a potential withdrawal would take months. I was talking a while ago to my grandfather (a retired general) and he was saying it would take 8 months or so for us to remove all the equipment and infrastructure from Iraq, and presumably it'll be a lot more for the Americans. | |

| Well, the fact stands that the Americans have utterly destroyed Iraq. So, whilst they should leave as sharply as possible, if they leave immediately there will most probably be a full scale Civil War. So, they need to... turn back time, dammit! There's just no way they can fix this problem...
Still, I'm fully aware Obama is far from perfect - he still stands far to the right of all of the politicans I support, but at the end of the day, I'd rather have him than Bush III...

| Considering that virtually all of America's politicans are as far to the right as Cambell, it wouldn't surprise me! But considering that McCain is essentially as bad as Thatcher, I'd go for Obama any day! XD | |

| His biggest threat is the revenge of Clinton supporters, and he's just fallen behind McCain in the polls according to the news, which suggests that's what happening, are Clinton Democrats really so petty minded as to let the republicans hold the presidency just because someone else had the temerity to beat their hero? hang, on this is america, or course they are. | |

| Yup - they really are that dumb. Plus, the Democrats made the fatal error of not slamming abortion in front of the stup- I mean, right-wing Christians. He's probably lost their whole vote now... It looks as though Michael Moore was right - the Democrats are just born losers... And the Amercan Public is so bone idle they'd actually rather take in all of the propaganda that actually look at the candidates on offer... ¬.¬ I hate them sometimes... XD | |

| Sadly that is universal, it astounds me how often stage managed photo ops and public appearances are used by politicians to win votes, and how often it seems to work, when it really tells us nothing about who they are in terms of political ideals and what they're likely to do. A lot of Blair's success sees to be because he's supported by the mass newspapers who push their agenda, knowing their readers are likely to vote for him just because they say that he's the best man. That's just part of this 'non-offensive' culture when no public figure is allowed to say anything of substance any more. without getting condemned, especially damaging for a politician. That's probably why the world is in such a state, because those in charge daren't do anything unpopular, even though sometimes the best move for a country is notr necessarily the most popular one. That's why as much as I like Obama, I see him as a politician, not a knight in shining armour, when push comes to shove he daren't bite the hand that feeds. | |

I think that sums it all up really, doesn't it. Whilst he's certainly the best canididate that America has on offer, he's far from perfect. Plus, he still stands far too the right of any politicians I'd usually support, as I mentioned earlier. But at the end of the day, I'd much rather him than McCain...

| I think there's an aspect to this that the News (UK news) aren't broadcasting, and that's the racial stinginess of the Hilary Clinton supporters. Yesterday I heard a plan to assasinate Obama was foiled and even before he won the democratic race, I knew that this was going to happen and it probably is, call me pessimist but there's still no racial equality in the world, not till a long time are people gonna stop judging people by there skin. Fuck yeah I'd love Obama and as much as I don't want it to happen, I can see Obama ending up like JFK.
As for the Clinton supporters, Hilary Clinton isn't going to be President-Get over it. Think about your country, not your revenge for Obama or whatever. Voting for McCain is a stupid mistake cos you're clearly not thinking about what you want for a country. You've not got much choice so..whatever.
And that concludes me being political. (=

| You've hit a good point there - many of the Hilary supporters are actually so dumb that they're willing to vote for a totally different political party and an utter idiot, just because their personal choice in candidate didn't win! It's ridiculous and extremely petty - although I guess that says a lot for the American public ¬.¬ | |

| well the running mates have been announced. Obama has an old wise head which is a good counter to those who slam his lack of experience, especially in foreign affairs, while McCain has a woman wiyh a pregnant teenage daughter. not very republican somehow. | |

| Plus, I dislike both of the Republican Runners now... ^^; They're both abysmal, to say the least! Plus, Palin is a very very very pro-NRA politician with lots of far-right views. The US could do without another fool like her in high-ranks. | |
