I've always loved the water types, blastoise has always been my favourite. probably because its so tough and those mean cannons. my era was only really gen 1 and gen 2, I have played sapphire but not since my GBA went missed a couple of weeks ago. so I use silver on stadium 2 now.

Oh, is silver any good? I only have Fire Red, Leaf Green, Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald for GBA, oh and the Mystery Dungeon GBA & DS and Explorers Of Darkness & Pokemon Dash, and Diamond & Pearl, I think that's it scratch

yap, in fact me and my best friend agree that the gen 2 games were the best, despite not having the characteristics (and although I haven't played any Gen 4 games, he has and tells me its disappointing), as it has most of the pokemon from the previous generation as well, where as sapphire only has some of previous games ones (I was trying to train a squad and had serious trouble picking out candidates for some positions, especially fire and electric types). I've seen a walkthrough of diamond on youtube and there were loads of old ones, which was good, but I'm not sure if there are as many as I'd like. plus as silver also has the kanto gyms and areas (if light on trainers and quests) its technically a bigger game, and I don't like puzzles very much so prefer the older ones which didn't have as many. when seeing the diamond walkthrough I saw at least half the gyms has annoying puzzles.

Yeah, i think most gyms in most of my games have puzzles, but when i think about it Diamond & Pearl would have the most, i think

I owned Pokemon Blue I think it was on the old Game Boy (I did quite like Pokemon, but quickly moved on when I discovered the wonders of Digimon)

PostSubject: Re: Pokemon   Sun Sep 14, 2008 11:04 pm

yep I've had silver for so long that I had a whole box of non legend level 100's (in 2002), then in a new game did a new project of first 26, than 15 (for reasons which are rather complicated). a lot of the unfinished ones were finished when my interest was resumed easter last year, the rest this summer. The 15 are

Articuno
Zapdos
Moltres
Mewtwo
Lugia
Suicune
Golem
Typhlosion
Tyranitar (which is mine)
Venusaur
Scizor
Heracross
Dragonite
Starmie
Raikou

the original list included
Blastoise (which was originally my own which I sadly had to drop)
Charizard
Omastar
Nidoking
Rhydon
Ho-oh
Entei
Steelix (which would have survived if it wasn't for a mix up over TM's which meant I wouldn't be able to give it earthquake)
Arcanine
Poliwrath
and the last was either octillery or lapras, confusingly I have a named one for both in my boxes, both named after the person the slot was meant to represent.

admitely I did use a little assistance to get the gen 1 legends.

However I only use a few of my level 100's regularly. almost always scizor, zapdos, mewtwo (because it can deal with anything) and lugia (which may also be psychic but has a wide move range and has massive defence). probably my prefered team is those 4 with moltres (which along with zapdos pack a massive punch) and 1 other, usually golem or dragonite.

Silver and Gold were my two favs also! Happy They were definitely the best games, as a result of all of the new features! Two worlds, two sets of gyms, "Red", the new pokemon... It was all great Happy

If I had to name a favourite pokemon though... Hmm.... Gengar/Haunter. I couldn't ever choose between them, but they're amazing! Excited/Very Happy

hypno, at least in gen 1 because while they didn't have the speed and special power of alakazam, they were a lot more resilient. however in gen 2 onwards its gone towards special defence with special attack not so great. however it still isn't bad.

Hypno is great Excited/Very Happy I always just liked pokemon that evolved a lot (thus Gastly family, Ralts family and Abra family) so I tended to steer away from things that didn't evolve. I was very annoyed to find out that Sableye didn't evolve, mind! XD
