Anyone ever been ill with anything before? (Despite typical colds, flus etc.)

I am going to be open about my bi-polar disorder...that's an illness I have to deal with and so do my friends and family... =/ it's the worst and can be embarrasing too.

It's not an illness but a disfunction at my nose: I can't breath through my nose, which causes me lots of trouble in my head and ears cause i've got lots of ache due to my allergies.
the doctors suggested me to operate my nose. Bwei.
But i'm gonna do it, I think cause It's just unbearable.

Mine isn't too serious (I don't think so anyway)...

My friends deal with it pretty well, I dunno how my new school are going to deal with it though cos my mum isnt telling them about it

Am I right in saying bi-polar disorder is to do with extreme mood swings?

Erm yeah extreme varies though


you can go through episodes where your mood just suddenly changes...


it's also known as manic depression...
so people with bi-polar disorder often attempt suicide (me)
it varies on how serious it is

I have Aspergers Syndrome too, but I did actually create a thread for "Learning Disability Awareness" so maybe it'd be more appropiate to go in there
I was also diagnosed with 'depression' (I hate that word) when I was ill, but I'm okay now

^ Right I'm going to have to go on Wikipedia to find out more about that because I'm not sure what it actually is tbh...I saw it on tv and my teacher mentioned it...


And that's good that you dont have depression anymore...I still have it but I've been fairly okay for the past few days =)

I've had a lot of operations on my ears (and one on a brain tumour when I was 7)

10 ops by the time I was 10, lucky me(!)

I'm pretty much ok now but I get low hearing/ear infections/tinitus/swimmers ear..... a lot. Always getting some sort of ear problem.

I also have a low immune system so catch colds/flu/bugs etc very easily so I'm ill a lot

Awww, you were telling me about all that, that's awful

I'm vary worried now given my mood swings

I found out on sunday that because I have exema, I use steroid creams and they kinnda...make it better (exema's a skin condition btw...lots of rashes)

ANyway apperently these "steroid" creams can affect your immune system and weaken it.

so that's why I pretty much have a permanent cold...

probably because we're on here so often we don't get the chance to be outside and build up resistance
