All-Time Favourite TV Show

I remember seeing Russell Brand as one of the guest’s on Have I Got News For You on Ian Hislop’s side and they didn’t have a clue what to make of the guy whatsoever. Also Jack Dee was the host of that one so it was a hell of a contrast.

The only real funny part of TMB though is the Moon, check it out (The rest of TMB is pretty crap IMO)

And I thought Russell Brand & Noel Fielding were great on the Quiz Of The Year You're right, they weren't taking it seriously at all that's what made it funny, IMO.

Like Requiem, I've never really gotten into it. Although, to be honest, most comedy tends to irritate me - it's either sexually frustrated or over the top.

And Russel Brand is just irritating

I really don't get why he's so popular, he's okay, but really....... He isn't even funny, sometimes you chuckle a bit coz he says something completely random and stupid, but other than that....

It's because of his appearence...girls think he's hot

exactly, I think thats why I think he's good. not the best comic by some way but not bad nonetheless.

hmm I appeer to be a sucker for that comedy style clearly as I also agree with that.

You have gotta love him though! No matter what! I don't know how to explain it, but just the way he puts everything, like on Would I Lie to You? last night, "do you seriously experience embarassment at just 5 years old? If my head was stuck in a railing at 5 I'd be screaming 'My head is stuck! Get me out of here! Ow ow!', not '*sigh* well... I've actually been a bit of a fool...'
That moment was classic!

Ah, couldn't see it as my mum's cousin and her son are staying at the moment which means I don't have the mealtime liberties I would have to take something upstairs and watch while I eat in my room, I haven't even caught up with 'the tudors' (which I'd normally watch in any case, but I usually watch 'would I lie to you' in the repeat slot) yet.

I saw one episode of Would I Lie to You? and it did make me laugh Although, admittedly, I'm more a fan of very dry humour. Slapstick comedy and ridiculous things just don't tend to tickle me. Oh, and I'm a massive fan of Satire, so Mock the Week, Have I Got News for You? and Blackadder rarely fail to make me laugh!

Indeed I do love all of them (well excelt the first blackadder)

Love satire... It's hard to think of anything that really beats it...

Yeah, the first Blackadder wasn't good, but it gave them the starting block to make season two incredibly good

Two of the best satire based programs in my opinion are Have I Got News For You and The Colbert Report. I’m not a big fan of slapstick comedies although the Naked Gun series was brilliant when it comes to slapstick.

I like farce comedy myself, as well as satire.

The best farce comedy has to be Fawlty Towers. It’s one of those comedies that never seems to get old.

I'm not knocking that, shame it was only 12 episodes. interestingly enough its torquay's greatest claim to fame eh Max?

Yeah, there was talk a while back of a possible Fawlty Towers statue being built, that or a single one of John Cleese, haven't heard anything about the possibility for a while though
