As for Palin, it's just depressing. I'm serious - if they get into power, I'm going to emigrate to Russia, work my way up in the government, and wage war on the US I'd be that desperate! XD

anyway, to move the bush topic on from the zimbabwe thread... what were you saying about Kerry?

I much preferred Kerry to Bush, although I disliked Kerry too XD

he didn't impress me much either. but the problem was more with american society. they're very patriotic which gives them more of a loyalty to the president, especially in what's techincally a time of war, and especially the armed forces (as he's C in C), he also still has the president's resources (like inteligence, see the fact he was obviously wired sometimes), so whoever faces an incumbant has the odds very much against them. plus bush is lucky with his terms, he was able to use 9/11 to rally the people but the 2004 election was too early for his anti war opponents to be a threat as back then it would still have been considered unpatriotic not to support it.

That's the main problem I have - I immensely dislike patriotism (I just don't feel it at all XD) so to see overly patriotic morons like Bush or Kerry whooping at the sight of the US flag being raised and cheering about the beauties of American, it just annoys me immensely! XD

I usually only look up bands on wikipedia, and ive never heard of the other

I like all the Wikipedia piss-take sites, like Uncyclopedia and the others (can't remember what they're called), they make me chuckle
Although it's completely different, and straying off topic, Urban Dictionary is a good site, I mention that as it has a similarish style and humour

I like Uncyclopedia or than the other Wikipedia-spoof sites just because so many of the things are very close to the truth, whilst only distorting them enough to make them as daft as possible. Encyclopedia Dramatica bugs me

I stick to wiki and a general google search.

Wikipedia is great but there's the ever present problem of it's censorship - I don't know if you heard about this, but the CIA actually totally edited and locked an account of a US security incident, preventing anyone but them from editing it, leaving their view of events the only one left... I do fear that sometimes, other articles have ended up the same way...

Google does bring up so great little bits of trivia on the likes of Bush though
